Sargos - The Breach

The Sargonic Wars was a series of conflicts waged from 2407 to 2419 by the Kingdom of Sargos in Northwestern Aels for the hegemony of the region, having fought alternatively other human kingdoms, Kanov and Orc nations and goblin tribes.

Background[]

King Don Camilo II The Magnificent reigned the Kingdom of Sargos during the Middle Human age, between the 2.398-2.428 a.a.H.

When he began his reign at the 2.398, he had inherited from his grandfather, Martin the Conqueror, one of the largest and more powerful armies of the northwestern Christianity and a rising power of the real authority and a nation that was in economic expansion.

During his reign, one of the first victories was his marriage with Princess Phillipe of Degoland, making a deal with her grandfather, King Diego V, that once he died, Don Camilo would become king of Degoland, due the lack of a male heir to the Degolian throne.

He became then the first king of the Unified Kingdom of Sargos-Degoland at the 2.399 a.a.H. Then, he proceeded to expand his influence and dominions, adding the archbishopric of Karentia and the kingdom of La Cruz to the west, and consolidating his control over Trebol and influence over the Kingdom of Huncle. As he supported the arts, science, culture and religion, began new efforts to settle in new areas and expand the areas of human influence: In the archipelago of Novaliohn, and closer, expanding the settlements to all the western bank of the Sargos River, and as well influencing Erenian, Botania, Tardos and other territories, such as the Olga's Wall, into the damned lands of Polforia.

However, his policies where toward the creation and conformation of a human, Christian kingdom, and so, the situation of the non-humans within the borders of Sargos worsened, such as of the Montangard Kanovs -who rebelled several times-, also with grey elves and others.

Meanwhile, using a rhetoric of a crusade against the monsters, the armies of Sargos led a systematic cleansing of orcs, ogres, goblins and other creatures considered "enemies of mankind" of the annexed territories, being common the news of massacres, killings and persecutions of non-humans.

It was precisely the expansionist policy of Sargos towards their human neighbors -wanting to unify under Sargonic banner the Christian-human northwest- and the excesses against the non-humans, that triggered the Sargonic Wars (2407-2420 a.a.H), war fought against a coalition of Christian-human kingdoms -Huncle, Tardos, Akresh, and later, la Cruz, Enkelt- and the Montangards, Yermenios and Gorbegeos kanovs, fought along with wars against orcs, goblins, demons and elves.-

Beginning of the Wars[]

Sargonic Phase[]

Gorbegean-Sargonic War[]

The Ur Dur tribes[]

The involvement of the Ur Dur tribes from Hortann in the Sargonic Wars was in principle, anecdotical.

As Knights of Enkel prepared to leave for the war in the north, some goblins visiting the castle saw the preparations for war, and wondered about it, thinking of it being a local affair. The Enkish knights then boasted how they marched instead to the far north, far, far away, to the rich lands of Sargos, to sack and plunder. Seeing the goblins interested, the Enkish Knights will offer the goblins to join if their wanted, as there would be "enough loot for everybody".

These goblins will bring these tales to their clans, where it will begin a snowball effect, in where Sargos would become a most mythical land of honey, gold and wine, where everylast goblin will be able to sack and plunder as their wished forever, and that no more heavy toiling would be needed.

These rumours will come to be revealed truth, and as prophets proclaimed the promised lands of loot to the goblin clans, some entrepeneur warlords, hearing the popular claim, will begin to gather and make plans to march against Sargos. This will be the beginning of the Hettasgo Horde.

The war party envisioned by the warlords of the Hettes became instead an army first, and then one of the largest hordes the goblins had ever gathered in their own.

As the forces of Enkel began their march to the north, they will see with horror the tribes of goblins leave the heights of Hortann in mass, "as numerous as the sand". This will surprise the Enkish, who would gather and try to do a diplomatic arrangement with the massive goblin army. As an army of this size could not be sustained by the lands of Enkel, they where quick to agree that the Enkish army and the Goblin Horde will take different paths.

According to later Sargonic accounts, arrived at Erenian a horde of over 200.000 goblin warriors. True to be told, rather than being just warriors, was whole tribes and clans of goblins from the south migrating in mass, following the actual army with religious fervour to this promised land of loot.

The Hettasgo Horde marched to the north, across Purpurian. In their path, they would fight, sack and plunder, with more goblin tribes and clans joining. They will cross Purpurian as a bane, only to be stopped by the Barlans River and their lack of resources and experience to cross it. Then, the Horde will march to the southwest, across the Titanizk mountains, where even more goblins, hobgoblins and Orcs arrived, until they reached Hannian, that they sacked and plundered.

As the armies of Hannian massed, the Horde continued to the Bultr Bridge, forcing it, coming finally to the Barlans.

In the Barlans, where there wasn't enough to plunder and raid, the Horde will suffer greatly, before they finally reached the Osorio river.

Facing the River Guard -and failing to cross-, they will then continue across the eastern bank of the Osorio, sacking and crossing Erenian, before finally reaching Degoland.

There, the Horde will be finally defeated -not by the Sargonic, but by the Alliance of the Three Realms.-

The Horde was a catastrophe. Only one of every ten goblins survived the march. Only one in every twenty, will ever return to the southern lands.

The last alliance[]

Sargonic defeat: Ne'Sargos[]

With their capitol sacked and their cities destroyed, Don Camilo II The Magnificent escaped to Ushaenor, to the colony of Ne'Sargos, which was proclaimed at the 2420 as the Kingdom of Ne'Sargos.

Don Camilo II will die in Ne'Sargos at the 2421 a.a.H
